Snorers don't usually realize that they are disturbing the sleep of the others such as their spouse.  The problem of snoring has often led to the wife sleeping the next room away from the partner.  These people can try different remedies to control snoring.  After all, not all snorers can sleep peacefully.  There are many whose sleep gets disturbed every now and then in the night. 

If you are one of the snorers, then all you need to do is find a cure to control snoring.  In order to find the right cure, you need to know the cause of your snoring.  Different people have different causes and one remedy that works well for one person may not work well for another. 

Once you have found the cause, it won't be long to find a cure.  The major cause of snoring in most people is narrow air passages or the vibration of the soft palate and muscles in the air ways.  These are however caused by factors such as being overweight.

Obese people have a greater chance of snoring as they have more fatty tissues in the air passages which are prone to vibrate.  To control snoring, it is a good idea to lose some extra kilos and have a healthy diet plan coupled with regular exercise. 

It is advisable not to take dairy products before hopping into bed.  They form mucus and cause blockage in the wind pipe which leads to snoring. 

Sleep on your sides rather than your back.  People who sleep on their back have greater chance of snoring as their tongue sways in the direction of throat and blocks the air passage.  Keep an extra pillow underneath your head so your head is in an elevated position. 

There are many devices available to control snoring.  Also available are different kinds of treatment for snoring.  These devices and treatments really work to help you get rid of your problem.
